The UMass Amherst Muslim Students Association (MSA) has many goals and achievements. One of these is its involvement in the Amherst community. MSA board members work with the general body MSA members to give back to the community through volunteering opportunities. Past opportunities include PB&J Against Poverty and Habitat for Humanity. We’ve recently been working with helping out our Student Pantry on campus!
Giving back to the community is not only a part of our religion/deen, it is a part of humanity. Alhamdullilah, the MSA along with the Muslims in the Amherst community have come together and made volunteering more accessible to the students at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The following is a quote from MSA Alumnae Suzanne:
“This is a way to organize community service efforts by the Muslim Students Association, the group is open to everyone. We would love to see everyone try and make it to our community service events, as well as taking the initiative and coming up with new ideas.
“And they feed, for love of God, the indigent, the orphan and the captives.” – Quran (76:8)”

These volunteering opportunities are listed below and will be updated as more opportunities are created.
